Community Emergency Planning (CEP) was created by industry and academic professionals who are dedicated to building strong community ties and resiliency. The CEP Advisory Committee is a group of individuals with experience in emergency services, emergency management, and public education. They ensure the course curriculum is based on current science, best practices, and industry standards. They are constantly working to improve the course and its content.

Jake Shores

MS, BS, Paramedic

 

Jake serves as the Advisory Committee chairman. He is an experienced paramedic and emergency manager for the country's largest EMS provider. Jake also holds a Master's in healthcare administration with a focus on quality assurance.

Pete Gaynor

CEM

 

Pete has a wealth of experience as a veteran emergency manager working at the local, state, and federal levels. Most notably, Pete served as the FEMA Administrator and the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security. He led the Agency to respond to some 300 presidential declared disasters, including the agency's first-ever pandemic response.

Kay Collet Goss

CEM

 

Kay Goss is an author, educator, historian, lecturer, and emergency management official. In 1993, she became the first woman to serve as associate director of FEMA, overseeing national preparedness and directing training and exercises, as well as directing the Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Jason has over 10 years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services and holds a Master's degree in emergency and disaster management, as well as, years of experience in public speaking and education.

Daniel is a seasoned educator with over 15 years of experience in public education. He holds a New York State Public School Teaching Certification as well as a Master’s degree in Childhood Education with a focus in Math, Science, and Technology. He has a passion for making learning fun and enjoyable.
